On a glorious day in Autumn this teenager watched Celtic demolish Rangers in the League Cup final. Rangers had a debutant centre-half, John Valentine, recently signed from Queens Park. Billy McPhail ran him ragged and scored a hat-trick in the process. Poor John’s debut was also his swansong.
