Michael Lavery
I was about eight or nine-years-old and football mad. I was watching one of the first Rangers videos my brother gave me. I think it was Rangers Gold.
About halfway through, a section of the video focused on the great Davie Cooper. It showed him dribbling and turning in a way I had never seen. Then it showed THAT goal against Celtic. The one with all the keepy-ups in the box.
It then showed an interview with Davie and he was so modest about his skills and greatness. Top man.
That was the day I thought: “I want to be a footballer”. Nearly made it as well. Not many left like him.
