Jim Baxter, the finest football player that Scotland has produced in my lifetime.

Telling one story about Baxter is easy, there are so many. Whether you’re a Rangers fan, a Nottingham Forest or Sunderland fan or whether your memories are about his time in a Scotland strip.

For me, I just close my eyes and I can see him there, tormenting the opposition with a skill that the game has long since lost; sitting on the ball, knowing that no one will try and take it from him because they don’t want to be embarrassed.
