There isn’t that much to shout about sometimes being a York City fan but, for me, it was the FA Cup third round v Stoke at the Britannia Stadium in 2010. It was so, so cold, snowing heavens high, the team was stuck on the M62 and the kick-off was delayed.

We went 1-0 up for exactly 90 seconds thanks to Neil Barratt and a cracking header, but for those 90 seconds I was the happiest person alive. For me, it is what the FA Cup is all about.

My husband would disagree with this and maintains that beating Man United 3-0 in 1995 at Old Trafford is better, but as I wasn’t at that game – I was too young, ha ha! – I am sticking with my choice.

Whenever I think about it, it never fails to make me smile. And, yes, we should have won that game. Happy days as a York City fan!
