There are different ways to get involved with Football Memories as a group member or as a group organiser.

General information for Community Groups

Community based groups meeting in football grounds, libraries and public halls get free membership which is renewed annually. For more information please contact Richard McBrearty, richard@scottishfootballmuseum.org.uk or Wendy Cox, wendy.cox@scottishfootballmuseum.org.uk

Membership of Football Memories Scotland as a community group gives you:

  • For new groups, a reminiscence starter pack comprising packs of football reminiscence cards, reminiscence DVDs as well as a volunteer training guide.
  • Free access to our reminiscence training sessions for group facilitators and volunteers either at Hampden Park (monthly training sessions are available) or at venues across Scotland as and when they are arranged.
  • Up to four free visits to the Scottish Football Museum each year for your group.
  • Additional reminiscence resources as they become available – new packs of cards will be rolled out each year.
  • Free access to Football Memories seminars and conventions at Hampden Park as and when they are planned.
  • Password access to our Football Memories digital archive providing access to 7,000 football images.

General information for Care Provider Organisations

A small annual membership fee is charged for care home and hospital groups which helps us to adequately resource each group and provide training for staff. Membership of Football Memories Scotland as a care provider organisation gives you...

  • For new groups, a reminiscence starter pack comprising packs of football reminiscence cards, reminiscence DVDs as well as a volunteer training guide.
  • Free access to our reminiscence training sessions for two staff members and volunteers either at Hampden Park (monthly training sessions are available) or at venues across Scotland as and when they are arranged (if a member of staff leaves within the year’s membership and is replaced by a new member of staff then we will provide training for the new person at no additional cost).
  • Up to four free visits to the Scottish Football Museum each year for your group.
