March 14, 2004 and Livingston are up 1-0 against hot favourites Hibs in the CIS League Cup Final.
We’re on tenderhooks; nervous, nail-biting stuff. We aren’t supposed to be winning and there’s 37,000 Hibs fans roaring their team on.
Then, the green shirts part and Jamie McAllister makes a breathtaking run that seemed to start somewhere in Cathcart and he drills the ball past the Hibs keeper.
The Livingston support erupts and as I turn round to my wife, a normally quite, calm individual, she is jumping up and down like an excited version of the Tasmanian Devil, gleefully giving the home support the International Sign of Friendship.
Happy days.
